Barbara Jean Rodenbeck

In memory of Barbara Jean Stockdale Rodenbeck, born on September 1st, 1948, in Tyler, Texas, and peacefully departed on January 1, 2024, in Brenham, Texas. Barbara’s life was a journey marked by various places and experiences. Raised on Lido Lane in Houston, Texas. Barbara’s adventurous spirit led her to live in Florida and Alaska for many years, adding rich layers to her life story. When immersed in the vibrant landscapes of Florida or the rugged beauty of Alaska, she embraced each chapter with resilience and grace.

Settling in New Ulm, Texas, she continued to cultivate a life filled with love, warmth, and a deep appreciation for animals. Her fondness for Matagorda, the beach, and fishing was a testament to her love for nature’s beauty and the tranquility found by the water. Whether casting a line into the waves or enjoying the sun on the shores of Matagorda, these moments brought her joy and serenity.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Robert Leonard Stockdale, mother Edna Louise Seckman Stockdale, grandson Robert Joseph Chapdelaine, and husband Lloyd Rodenbeck, Sr., Barbara is survived by her sister, Nancy Peters Stureck, daughters and sons in law, Susan Johns and Roger Kessner and Stacy and Mark Mills, along with six grandchildren, Rebecca Ard, Elizabeth Chapdelaine, Amanda Simmons, Seth Chapdelaine, Adam Chapdelaine, Amelia Chapdelaine and daughter in law Staci Chapdelaine. Additionally, she leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Harper Barnett, Max and Luke Chapdelaine, Elliot, and Emmet Simmons.
