Wherever they lived, they were always involved in church, charity, and community events.

In later years when Bea moved to Brenham, she became a resident of Kruse Village. She enjoyed the sense of community there and made many friends. She always looked forward to games of pitch and 49. Bea was a thoughtful and generous person, and she found many small but impactful ways to be involved in the Brenham community, like using her cooking talents to bake homemade cookies for the Citizens on Patrol bake sale fundraiser and events at her church, Champion Fellowship.
