Billy Martin

Billy Martin, 81, of Brenham passed away on Friday, February 20, 2009 at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village.

He was born August 24, 1927 in Dialville, Texas to William Clyde and Eula Mae (Blackwell) Martin. Mr. Martin served his country in the Merchant Marines during WW II and later in the U.S. Army Reserves. On February 21, 1953, he married Anita Bigley in Houston. Mr. Martin was employed by Richardson Chevrolet for more than 35 years, retiring as General Sales Manager. For many years a member of Epworth Methodist Church and the West University Masonic Lodge #1292 in Houston, his hobbies included gardening, carpentry and watching sports on television.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Pamela Martin Dillard, brother-in-law Robert Reed, Sr., and nephew Robert Reed, Jr.

His loving family includes: wife, Anita Martin; son, Kevin Martin; son-in-law, Craig Dillard; granddaughter, Jennifer Johnson Hardwick; great-grandchildren, Logan Tyler Hardwick and Pamela Fayth Hardwick; sisters, Dania Martin Fisher and Shirley Martin Reed; brother-in-law Leo Clyde Fisher; nieces Sherry Reed Baker and Karen Fisher Omara; and nephews Terry Fisher, Bruce Reed and Gary Fisher.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village Chapel, 1700 E. Stone St., Brenham, TX 77833 with Rev. Bill Mosley officiating.
