Bobbie Schaer

Bobbie Elizabeth Campbell Schaer was born November 15, 1927 in Somerville, Texas and departed this life November 27, 2010. She was the youngest of five children born to Stamps and AdeLaide Nell (Brodnax) Campbell. On March 15, 1947, Bobbie married the love of her life Willie Earl Schaer, Jr. To that union two children were born. Bobbie grew up in Somerville and moved to Austin after her marriage. They moved to Baytown when Willie began working for Humble Refining (now Exxon/Mobil). Bobbie returned to school and received her LVN license. Bobbie and Willie moved to Centerville, Texas, where Willie was a partner at Centerville Lumber Company and Bobbie worked as the school nurse. They returned to Baytown, where she spent most of her nursing career working in local doctor’s offices. Bobbie retired from nursing, when she and Willie moved to Corpus Christi. After Willie’s retirement, they moved to Chappell Hill for the remainder of their lives.

Bobbie was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Willie; parents; sisters, LaWinn Stamps Campbell and LaNelle Campbell Brennan; brothers, Stamps Campbell, Jr. and Ernest Edwin Campbell; brother-in-law, Larry Brennan and sister-in-law, Bess Tate Campbell.

She is survived by: daughters, Cynthia Hill of Garland, Susan Prewitt and husband Mike of Baytown; grandchildren, Billy Prewitt and wife Lori, Courtney Elizabeth Prewitt; precious great-grandchildren, Emma and Peyton Prewitt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Chappell Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Paula Behrens officiating.
