Bruce Neil Fritz

Bruce Neil Fritz, age 60, son of Lee Roy and Annie Marie (Brinkmeyer) Fritz, passed away on December 14, 2019.

Bruce was born in Brenham on December 8, 1959. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. He attended Brenham schools and graduated from Brenham High School in 1978. He played tuba in the high school band and was an honor roll student.

Bruce was a tile mechanic and carpet layer. He was acclaimed to be one of the best in the southern region of Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and dominoes with his family and friends. He was employed by Brenham Cotton Mill, Fischer Tile Co., Kenjura Tile, and Custom Floors of Brenham. During his work life there were times when he was self-employed doing custom tile work. He also liked to garden, cook, and enjoyed barbequing for friends and family. When his father was still living, he helped him graft pecan trees.

Bruce is preceded in death by his beloved father, Lee Roy Fritz; nephew Kevin Demuth, grandson Tyler Jackson; grandparents Karl F. and Alvina Brinkmeyer, and Arthur and Ida Fritz.

He is survived by his loving family: caring mother, Annie Marie Fritz; children Daniel Fritz and wife Paula Zeiner Fritz, Sarah (Fritz) Jackson and husband Adam Jackson, Angela (Fritz) Espinoza and husband Raul Espinoza; grandchildren, Kaylee Fritz and fiancé Wyatt Chaney, Madison Fritz and Camryn Espinoza; and great-grandson Waylon Chaney; sister Brenda Bridges and husband Chad Bridges, sister Barbara and Ricky Rudloff, brother Brian Fritz and wife Cathy, brother Bradley Fritz and wife Susan; also by cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and the mother of his children, JoEllen Fritz.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 19 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Salem Lutheran Church.

Pallbearers are Randy Schwartz, David Schwartz, Jerry Schwartz, Eddie Marshall, Gary Weyand, and Ricky Rudloff. Honorary Pallbearers are Lance Chambers, Darrell Lauter, Tommy Joe Pryzborski Jr., Freddie Winkelmann, and John Kenjura.
