Carolyn Perez

Carolyn Jo Pate Perez, age 78, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 16, 2020. She was a resident of Hempstead, Texas. Her faith in the Lord was always a part of her life, in good times, bad times, and through her illnesses.

Carolyn Jo was born October 2, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama, to parents Vernon and Granada Pate. She enjoyed singing, dancing and drawing. Making people laugh, being funny, and being silly brought joy into her life.

Carolyn married Manuel A. Perez on February 9, 1963 in Houston, Texas.

Carolyn is survived by her Husband Manuel A. Perez of Hempstead; brother Dennis Kiem of Houston; children Crystal Martin of Texas City, Texas and spouse Dana Gordon Martin, Melody Perry of Brenham, Texas and spouse Preston Perry, Sonya Graham of Katy, Texas and spouse W. Keith Graham, Michael Perez of LaMarque, Texas and spouse Lupe Love. Her grandchildren are Jennifer Newcomer of Tomball, Texas, Staff Sergeant Kyle Martin of California, Austin Martin of Houston, Samantha Burnett of Brenham, Texas, Jared Perry of Tyler, Texas, Kristina Dorsey of Katy, Texas, HM1(FMF) Steven A. Eleter of California, Elijah Meyer of Houston, Texas, Kristian Keith Graham of Katy, Texas, Esperanza Graham of Houston, Texas, Faith Graham of Katy, Texas. Carolyn was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Devin Luckey, Haylie Newcomer, Kaila Martin, Alina Martin, Jack D. Martin, Justice Bazan, Selene Burnett, Damian Eleter, and Julian Perez.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas. Prior to the service, from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM, there will be a viewing. Following the funeral, Carolyn will be laid to rest at Prairie Lea Cemetery, Brenham, Texas.
