Bonnie, I am so sorry for you and your families loss. I'm never on Facebook and ask your forgiveness for not contacting you sooner. A man is known by his words and his actions, even moreso by what others say about him.... He must have been a remarkable man. His legacy truly lives on in you. You and all your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

When Butch and Betsy moved out to the country on FM 109 and became our neighbors, Butch wanted to learn how to bale hay with a square baler...so Berry Lee taught him how, Butch was a fast learner and did a great job

Betsy, Bruce, Bonnie & families...

I am truly, truly sorry for your loss. Losing Butch has been such a tremendous loss for us as well.

Honestly, the words just don't seem to be there. He was such an important part of our world. He was around almost weekly & he called our office much more often than that. He was the one person guaranteed to send me the shortest text messages ever. Usually just sending "received". That was totally Butch - short, straight & to the point.

He was more than just our Constable, he was our friend - but he didn't have to be, he wanted to be. He wanted to know how we were all doing. He truly cared about us. He was a good & kind hearted, truly genuine man. One that can NEVER be replaced.

It has already proven extremely hard to realize that he will not be calling us, emailing or texting us again. I have tried to email him more times than I can count, solely out of shear habit. That habit is going to be one that is really hard to not do. I have told Terrence on more than one occasion to "gather that up so I can take it to Butch at the jewelry store". Yet again, another habit that is really hard to break. I guess you really do not realize how much you come to rely on someone until they are no longer in your life.

Butch was such a blessing to Douglas & to me & Terrence very much enjoyed sharing stories with him.

I know how much I am hurting, I cannot even begin to imagine your pain. Please know that we are always here for you if you need anything. We pray that God brings all of you comfort, strength & love during this time.

We are blessed that we had the privilege of knowing Butch. He was a friend who always had a story to tell and kind words when needed. Our clocks will tick a little slower and Brenham will miss the laughter and smile of Butch. Auf Gottes Wegen ist Gottes Segen.

Faske Family: The loss of Butch reminds many of us of our formative years when we made lifelong friends. He was always there with a huge smile and advice way beyond his years. He continued that into his adult years and touched so many lives.

I know his current journey is exciting and new with no worries or pain. And, you can be sure that he will continue to provide love and guidance to you though he has left his earthly body!

May God grant you healing and understanding as He encircles you with His love !

"True love is spending one day getting married...and the rest of your life feeling glad you did."

This statement very well sums up the past 49 years of my life. Butch changed my life in so many ways, along with so many people whose paths he crossed every day.

Butch is everywhere I look....from his Tahoe parked in the driveway to all of his Texas Traffic Law books--to his uniform shirts--then there are the badges, I know the volume of civil papers he served...I see him on our 23-acre residence--the garden, the fishing tank, everywhere. I go by the Washington County Courthouse and it's so obvious what he accomplished in 31+ years, it's unbelievable.

He wasn't perfect--he had his ways--but he gave life everything he had to offer, to improve it for the people living here. And, yes, he succeeded way more than not....

He was truly the best part of my life, and I thank God I was a part of his life. There will never be another Butch Faske in this world--but I'm so glad I went on our "blind date" back in 1970...I took a chance and it paid off with so many blessings...

Many, many thanks to all of you who knew him or our family through the years. Your loving, caring comments mean so much. I know Butch would be surprised with the volume of comments. What a life...

It was with a lot of sadness I learned of Butch's passing. He was the nicest person and so helpful to me on many occasions . I am one of many, many people who will miss him and his keen insight into current and past events. He was a true font of knowledge about a great many topics. There are too many memories, that I really don't have the words to say how much this Guy meant to my Husband (Eddie) and myself. I know Butch and Eddie are talking over things now. My heart goes out to the Family. Butch, had a wonderful wife that would do anything for him. I pray that God will give you Peace in the months to come and love the the Family. Only the good things will be remembered. Take care Bruce and Bonnie.

Like so many others, I was saddened to hear the news of Butch passing away to a better place! I've lived in Anchorage for many years, but nearly always made a stop when in Brenham to crawl up those steep stairs at the jewelry store to see him sitting in his chair, him looking up and giving me such a sweet smile. He was a friend for many years and will be missed by many dear friends and family members! I pray for comfort for each of us and know he is in a much better place! Tasa Myrick.

Betsy & Family,
I was saddened to hear of Butch's passing. You all fought a valiant fight with his health issues the past few years; we rejoice that Butch has won that valiant fight and has found perfect healing. I will always have found memories of the Woodson Lane days...and just when you thought you were going to be done with us, then we kinda followed you to Mark T! I know the Mark T neighbors welcomed him with open arms. Prayers for strength and comfort for you!

To BF,

Butch and I were childhood friends all the way through kindergarten, grade school, high school even confirmation. There were four of us who were fast friends during those formative years. Of us, Butch was always the most level-headed which, most likely, kept us out of trouble and on the straight and narrow. Even then he was thinking like the great lawman he became. Always weighing the consequences and making good decisions. I learned a lot from Butch and his family and the way they lived their lives.
Betsy, you influenced my life substantially with just one event. On your wedding day, you introduced me to your college roommate and my future wife. For that I am forever grateful.
I have been where you are regarding grieving. As Rev. Laura Mayo writes, we are surrounded by fellow travelers on our journey, many of whom are themselves grieving. In our sharing, we surround ourselves with a love that can never die. Your friends want to help. Let them help.
God bless you,
Donald

Dear Betsy & family, my sincere sympathy. It's so heartbreaking to loose ones husband & so many wonderful years of marriage & raising a family. Shortly after Dee died I saw Butch & he mentioned a time I believe you all were leaving the hospital in Bryan & how Dee helped him to the car. It was the highlight of my day to hear these words so shortly after Dees death. It's the simple words & gestures in Life that will keep you going in the days ahead. Remember all the funny things you two did & laughed about all the years. I'm sure you have many. With Sincere Sympathy, Pat McIntyre
