Obituary

Charles Allen Mosley passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the age of 92.

Viewing will be Wednesday, December 13th until 7 p.m. and Thursday, December 14th morning at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Services will be at Welcome Lutheran Church in Welcome, Texas, Thursday, December 14th at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

He was born in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to William W. Mosley and Birdie Johnson Mosley on January 25, 1925. In 1943 at age 18, he moved to Texas and began working at Shell Chemical in Deer Park from where he retired in 1983. He married Verlyn Louise Schulz on January 31, 1947. He enjoyed taking the family all over the U.S. on camping trips and to Garner State Park as much as possible. He was active in the Lutheran Church and a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts. They retired to Welcome, Texas where they had a cattle farm. He greatly enjoyed the country life and always made it an adventure when the grandchildren came to visit. He and Verlyn loved to dance, traveled all over the world and enjoyed being active in the Shell Retiree’s Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lucille Proctor, brother Edward Mosley, great- grandson Jonas Collins and son-in-law Jeff Moore. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Verlyn, and their children Bill Mosley and wife Linda, Becky Collins and husband David, Donna Stookey and husband Jim, and Alan Mosley and wife Sharon, 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Memorials may be given to Welcome Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund or the Lions Eye Bank Foundation.
