Obituary

Charles B. Crouch, Jr. born in Calvert, Robertson County, Texas, passed away at Gazebo Terrace on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the age of 95 years. He was born November 29, 1913 to Charles Boyd Crouch, Sr. and Mattie (Bishop) Crouch. On October 7, 1940 he married Mary (Giesecke) Crouch in Brenham by Rev. Lemmons. Mr. Crouch had been a communications technician for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 40 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brenham and Graham Masonic Lodge #20 in Brenham since April 9, 1945.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary (Giesecke) Crouch, parents Charles and Mattie (Bishop) Crouch; parents-in-law Albert and Meta (Rogas) Giesecke; brother Samuel Odell Crouch; sisters Geraldine Pope, Wilda Lange and Mildred Pridgen; brothers-in-law Ford Brown, Harry Pope, Fred Lange, Robert Pridgen, Harry Stephens and Joe Picone; sisters-in-law Dovie Crouch, Ella Mae Stephens and Thelma Crouch.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Robert “Bob” and Beverly Crouch of Houston, TX; daughter and son-in-law Charlesette and Leroy “Scooter” Polk of Brenham; grandchildren Robbie and Pamela Heugatter of Las Vegas, NV, Debbie and Jeff Day of Brenham, Crista Crouch of Beaumont, Denise Crouch of Houston; great-grandchildren Christina Day and Jessica Day of Brenham; sister-in-law Tincy Picone of Brenham; step-grandchildren Cesar and Tammy Valencia of Baytown, TX, Steve and Tena Bynum of Manvel, TX, Larry and Rhonda Polk of Alvin, TX; step-great-grandchildren Jason Moore, Parker and Tara Sanderson, Amanda Bynum and Stephanie Bynum, Taylor Polk and Summer Polk; step-great-great-grandchildren Jillian Moore and Peyton Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend Berry Ganske.

By his request, cremation with private graveside service will be beside his wife of 65 years. Graham Masonic Lodge #20 of Brenham will be in charge of this service.

The family would like to thank Argent Court, Hospice, Gazebo Terrace, Dr. Jon Bode, Dr. Thomas Weber, Trinity Medical Center and their staff for their care of our loved one and the compassion shown to our family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to American Cancer Society or Brazos Valley Hospice.
