Obituary

Charlie Joe “C.J.” Kolajajak, 91 of Chappell Hill, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018.

Visitation will be Monday, July 30th from 5 p.m. until rosary begins at 7:30 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 31st at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Jozef Musiol SDS, JCD as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.

C.J. was born in Brenham to Joe and Maggie (Stegent) Kolajajak on March 19, 1927. He attended Brenham schools. In 1945, he entered military service in the Army Air Corps during WWII. On April 22, 1950, C.J. married Blanche Jozwiak at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. They moved to Houston, where he was employed as a machinist at Daniel Industries and from there he retired. In 1956, the couple moved to Chappell Hill, where he built his home and also began ranching. Later, C.J. worked at Cleaner Hangers and Valmont Industries in Brenham.

He worked hard on the home place and caring for his cattle. He enjoyed cooking and baking with his wife. They enjoyed casino bus trips and traveling to Army reunions.

C.J. was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Buddy Wright Post 48.

He was preceded in death by parents, sister Louise Love and brother Leon Kolajajak.

Surviving loving family includes: wife of 68 years, Blanche Kolajajak of Chappell Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and David McFarland; grandchildren to whom he was “JaJa”, David Lucian McFarland II and wife Tonya, Heather Lowe and husband Brian; great-grandchildren, Kasi Gayle, Kaleb McFarland, Madelyn McFarland, and soon to arrive Isabella Mae Lowe all of Navasota; sisters, Ella Januhowski of Houston; Angie Huddleston Menzel of Milano; sister-in-law, Esther Skweres of Brenham; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Lucian McFarland II, Brian Lowe, Billy Joe Skweres, Jerry Dorcz, Thomas Januhowski and Jason Kaucher.

Memorials are suggested for Mass requests at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
