Obituary

Christopher Allen Blythe, 51, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 19, 2023. Chris was born in Houston, TX to David and Donna Blythe, May 22, 1971. Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Donna Adams Blythe and David Blythe.

Growing up in Alief, Chris attended Elsik High School. Not afraid of working hard and putting in an honest day’s work, Chris’ work life took him through law enforcement, construction, bartending, telecommunications, dirt work, and pest control. A true jack-of-all-trades, much like his father, Chris was happiest working outdoors in nature, dirt work with his father being his favorite.

Starting his family in Houston, Chris moved everyone out to Washington County when his boys were in elementary school. It was his dream to create his own slice of heaven on Earth, and to raise his boys with country roots and a healthy respect for God’s country.

It was not unusual to find Chris working at putting the best smoke ring on a brisket or pork loin, hosting a crawfish boil, playing cards or dominos, or floating a Texas river or waterpark lazy river with friends and family. Chris loved all genres of music, so if he was awake, there was music playing in the background. Spending time with family and friends, having fun, and making others belly laugh sums up what mattered most to Chris.

Chris was a devoted husband, a loving father, son, and brother, and a helpful and amazing friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and eternally cherished and remembered by his wife, Debbi Dover Blythe, his sons, Hunter Blythe, Devin Blythe, and Storm Chase Pearson, brother, Matt Blythe, step-mom, Karen Blythe, and mother-in-law, Diane Dover.

Memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers (2t2.org).

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel and online condolences may be shared with the family at www.brenhammemorialchapel.com.
