Clara Dena (Richter) Roesler

Clara Richter Roesler, 93 of Brenham, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018.

Clara Dena Richter was born on December 18, 1924, in Garwood, Texas, to Elo and Louise (Meyer) Richter. She was baptized at home, and confirmed April 6, 1941, at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. She attended Mound Hill School, and in 1945 she graduated from Houston Beauty College.

On July 3, 1949, Clara was united in marriage to Arnold E. Roesler at Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham. They made their home in Brenham. Arnold passed away on April 17, 1972. Clara was a skilled hairdresser, having spent over 60 years in the trade. She started out with her sisters, operating Three Sisters Beauty Shop, and later opened her own business, Clara’s Beauty Shop. Clara also enjoyed quilting and crocheting, cooking, and tending her garden.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son David; parents-in-law Adolph and Wanda Roesler; sister, Hattie Finke and husband Roy; and brothers-in-law Ed Roesler, Wilburn Roesler, Louis Hold Jr., and Edwin Bohne.

Clara is survived by son Mark; daughter-in-law Nancy Roesler; grandchildren, Curt Roesler, Brett Roesler, Amy Stubbs and husband Adam, and Natalie Roesler; great-grandchildren Austin and Abigail Stubbs, and two great-grandsons; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille Bohne, Lorine Hold, Amanda and Al Hafer; sisters-in-law, Patsy Roesler and Michaelyn Roesler.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018, at 10:00 am, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Charles Parnell will officiate. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
