Clyde Madison

Clyde Madison, age 87, of Brenham passed away May 7, 2025 with his wife by his side.

Clyde was born March 4, 1938 in Old Washington to Warren “Ike” and Lucy (Felder) Madison. He attended and graduated from Brown’s Prairie School which was known as Old Washington School. Clyde retired in 2005 from Schille Corp where he was employed as a truck driver. He married Louise Hutchinson on March 13, 2023 in Brenham by Judge Dorothy Morgan.

Clyde was a devoted family man who deeply cherished his loved ones. He found joy in spending time with family, whether it was attending reunions, celebrating weddings, or gathering for backyard barbecues. Clyde and Louise shared a love for gambling, which took them on memorable adventures to Mississippi, Louisiana, and Las Vegas. When he wasn’t traveling he could be found at the Big Wheel Cafe in Old Washington enjoying good food, music and laughs with friends.

Clyde is preceded in death by parents Warren “Ike” and Lucy (Felder) Madison; brothers Leo Williams, Clarence Madison; sisters Willie Mae Jones, Leatrice Williams, Gracie Mae Rivers; sons Marcus Rogers and Carlton Rogers.

Left to cherish his memories is wife Louise, children Derrick Madison, Cedric Madison, Adria (David) Madison, Michael Rogers, Carla Rogers, Michelle Loston; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; special niece and nephew Iceia Jones and Kenneth Jones; special cousins Dorothy “Honey” Santee and Sammie “Baby C” Lipsomb; brother Charlie (Lucy) Madison; sister Lucinda McDonald; brother-in-laws Ivison Jones, Larry (Evelina) Hutchinson, Morris (Cheryl) Brooks; sister-in-law Jackie (Darrell) Wright; special friend of 62 years Edward “Eddie” Carter; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins he was loved by.

A wake service with family present will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

A funeral service will be Saturday 17, 2025 at 12:00pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Prudie Milam officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Brooks, Jamie Rogers, Larry Santee, Herbert “JR” Selmon, Earl Isreal, Michael Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cedric Madison, Fred Santee, Darron Flowers, Larry Hutchinson and Derrick Madison.

The Madison Family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Baylor Scott & White in both Brenham and Temple, as well as Kruse Village, for the compassionate care and support shown to Clyde and his family. They are also deeply grateful to all the family and friends who offered their support through calls, messages, and visits during this time.
