Obituary

Crispin Caye Martin 63 of Pearland, TX, passed to her spiritual life on May 28, 2024.

She was born January 29, 1961 to Elmer and Mary Ann Faykus in Houston, TX.

Crispin graduated from Brenham High School in 1979, Blinn College in 1981, and Sam Houston State University in 1984 with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology. Crispin was a certified Medical Technologist and worked at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX for 34 years in the Pathology department.

Crispin married Gary John Martin on October 8, 1994 making their home in Pearland, TX.

Crispin was a devout Catholic and family was very important to her. She was loved by family, friends and everyone she met. She enjoyed planning holiday gatherings and spending time with loved ones. She was a gourmet cook and grew her own herbs, and vegetables, which she used in her cooking. Among her favorite things to make were; Goulash, Fig Jelly, Pickles, and Fudge. She loved to garden and plant flowers with bright colors.

Crispin enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with family and friends. She loved visiting quiet peaceful countryside’s and different churches. She enjoyed going to seasonal festivals where she would buy gifts for friends and loved ones.

Crispin had a love for people. She dressed in bright colors, with fuchsia and purple being her favorite. Bluebonnets and Blue Bell ice cream were among the things that made her happy.

Crispin was preceded in death by her father Elmer Faykus.

Surviving family includes: her husband, Gary Martin; son, William Martin; mother, Mary Ann Faykus; sister and brother-in-law, Misti and Don Orr; brother and sister-in-law, Cass and Donna Faykus; nieces and nephews, Alyssa Faykus, Tyler and wife Gianna, and Elijah and Genevieve Faykus; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Margaret Martin; brother-in-law, Paul and wife Sylvia Martin; nephews, Matthew, Chrstopher and Grayson Martin.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD).

Visitation will be Monday June 3rd from noon until 7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Services will be held Tuesday June 4th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with rosary recited at 9:30, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
