Obituary
Jackie Darlene Griffin, 72, of Brenham, Texas, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 13, 2024.
Darlene Griffin was born January 4, 1952 in Crowley, Louisiana to Bennett and Eathel Wyatt.
Darlene attended school and graduated from Crowley High School in Crowley, Louisiana. After graduation, she went to work as an executive assistant in the oil and gas industry. She continued working as an assistant in real estate development and law, ending her career as a paralegal for the FDIC. Darlene was an avid reader, a dedicated penpal, a scrapbooker and lover of genealogy. Her greatest joys were spending time with her children, grand children and great grandchildren, reading and studying the Bible and going to church. Darlene always wanted to be remembered as a person who loved the Lord and her family, which she demonstrated daily.
Darlene’s loving family includes husband Raymond; children Gretchen and Mark Downey, Gene and Tonya Griffin, Kasey and Brad Hollier; grandchildren Dylan and Mindy Downey, Anthony and Mercedes Griffin, Levi Downey, Hunter and Veronica Griffin, Alyssa and Dalton Reeves, Halle Hollier, Kayla Hollier, Kyle Hollier; great grandchildren Hudson Griffin, Radeyn Downey, Andersyn Downey, Talon Reeves, Layton Reeves, Peightan Downey, Corbin Guillett; siblings Robbie and Charlie Scott, Rocky and Angie Wyatt, Charlene Sonnier, and Steve Kitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, father, and older brother Connley Wyatt.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Downey, Anthony Scott Griffin, Gene Griffin, Dalton Reeves, Levi Downey, Marvin Cheek, Chris Scott and Klint Wyatt.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10am at Brenham Memorial Chapel with funeral service at 11am at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Burial to follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Texas.
