Obituary

Dennis Leslie Benton, 75, passed away on September 20, 2026 in his home. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth Reue Benton for 35 years.

Born in Kindersly, Saskatchewan, Canada, he was the son of Lloyd and Clara Benton.
After graduating from UNLV, he began a long career in the seismic geophysical industry. He later went on to Information Technology.

He enjoyed the joyful hobby of recording history of musicians through his photography, with him rarely seen without his camera. He also photographed nature, using his knowledge of geology and astronomy. He traveled and lived all over the United States much to his delight, settling in Texas and a few years in Colorado.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Reue Benton; children Tina Benton Vining (James), Leslie Benton Bishop (Kovvie), Robert Benton (Alyssa), Elizabeth Mae Benton Stafford (Kolby), and Allison Rose Benton; grandchildren Starla Conroy (Shane), Trace Vining (Bekah), Daxx Craig, Ariana and Cadrian; great grandchildren Tucker, Finley, Beau, Archer, Haven and Kate; sister Nancy Bloodgood, sister-in-law Katherine Lynne Reue Berdofe; nephews Jason Bloodgood, Grayson Reue Berdofe, Ethan Reue Berdofe and Sean Thatcher. Sister Connie Benton Thatcher preceded him in death.

Visitation for Dennis will be Friday, November 6, 2026 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with family present. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. An inurnment will follow the service at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Serving will be pallbearers are Grayson Reue Berdofe, Ethan Reue Berdofe, Ray Andrejczak, and Kolby Stafford. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Andes, Patrice Pike, John Kuzma, Marilyn Kuzma and Randall Roske.
