Doris Jean (Schulze) Soukup

Doris Jean Schulze Soukup age 82, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Tomball, Texas.

Doris Jean Schulze was born September 25, 1939 in Brenham to parents Edward and Emily (Kasprowicz) Schulze. She grew up on a farm, knowing hard work and developing a love for animals. She was a graduate of Brenham High School in 1957and of Blinn College.

On January 11, 1964, Doris was united in marriage to Edward J. Soukup at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. After the couple moved to Houston, they were members of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. She volunteered time at church and taught religious education classes. Doris was the mother of three sons and involved in PTO and Little League. She worked in food service for Cy-Fair ISD for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by: parents and husband.

Surviving family includes: sons, Dr. Gregory J. Soukup, Sr., Mark J. Soukup, and Edward J. Soukup, II and wife Maria; grandchildren, Annette Vaul and husband Stuart, Andrea Raines, Corrynn Soukup, and Gregory Soukup Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Tom Cleary; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Bob Sybert and Monica and John May; several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Sunday, March 27th from noon until 6 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Rosary will be recited Monday, March 28th at 9 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Mass beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
