His work took them all across the state of Texas. Later, they returned to Brenham and Doris became a stay-at-home mom. She was an excellent seamstress and made many outfits for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Crocheting and crafting were some of her other hobbies. Doris was the family and neighborhood barber and hairdresser. She cut hair and gave home perms to many people through the years. She and Marvin enjoyed traveling to other states with their friends on many occasions. Doris truly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.
