Obituary

Dorothy M. Kitowski, entered into eternal rest on August 5, 2020, at the age of 96, at Focused Care from natural causes.

Due to Covid-19, face masks and social distancing will be observed.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with Father Jovan Saaverda officiating and Msgr. John Malinowski as con-celebrant. Burial will follow immediately in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in
Chappell Hill.

She was born April 10, 1924 in Chappell Hill, Texas to the late Nellie (Lewandowsky) and Albert Kitowski, Sr. She was baptized at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill.

Dorothy worked briefly in Houston and then returned home to Brenham where she assisted with the operation of the family farms as a bookkeeper. As her parents aged, she became their primary caregiver until they passed away and then took care of her brother, Vincent for several years.

She was a resident of Argent Court prior to moving to Focused Care of Brenham (formerly Gazebo Terrace) where she has resided the past several years.

Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham and was a member of the Sons of Hermann Life and this year received her 50-year membership pin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Albert Kitowski, Jr. and Vincent P. Kitowski; sister, Florence (Kitowski) Kenjura, sisters-in-law, Angela (Murski) Kitowski, Doris (Pickens) Kitowski and brother-in-law, Alfred L. Kenjura, Sr.

She is survived by nieces: Virginia Malinowski, Kathryn Kitowski, Deborah Hargett, Cynthia Bigelow and Sharon Kuzniarek, nephews: Albert Kitowski, III and Alfred Kenjura, Jr. and several grand nieces, nephews and cousins and special first cousin, Barry Blue.

The following will be honored to serve as casket bearers: Alfred Kenjura, Jr., Albert “Bert” Kitowski, IV, Tyler Kuzniarek, Barry Blue, Hunter Bigelow and Chad Kuzniarek.

Honorary casket bearers will be Albert Kitowski, III and Alvin Malinowski.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Argent Court and Focused Care of Brenham for their loving and compassionate care of our Aunt Dorothy the past several years as well as Hospice Brazos Valley for their care in her final days. May she rest in peace and have eternal rest.
