Dorothy Ladewig

Dorothy Ladewig, 86 of the Gay Hill Community, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

She was born February 21, 1927 in Holman, Texas to Cyril and Mary (Miksch) Mazoch. On June 18, 1946, she married Hilton August Ladewig in Louise, Texas. Dorothy was a homemaker and seamstress working at Tic Toc and Brentex Mills.
She enjoyed fishing, hunting and gambling trips. Teaching her family how to can, cooking, making noodles and homemade butter are treasured memories. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Her parents, husband, twin infant daughter Vivian and son Vernon, grandson Dillon Powell; two infant siblings, special friend Alvin “Pete” Studhalter, brother-in-law Silvan Dluhos and sister-in-law Mary Mazoch predeceased her.

Surviving loving family includes: children, Robert and Shirley Ladewig of Brenham, Mary Kay Eldridge of Somerville, Kenneth and Kathy Ladewig of Burton, Delbert and Helen Ladewig of Brenham, Gary Ladewig of Brenham, Karen Harmel and George Boswell of Brenham, Ronnie and Jennifer Ladewig of Harper, Dena Janish and Kurt Koehler of Somerville, Lori and Timmy Weigelt of Carmine; extended family Donnie and Alice Studhalter of Brenham; grandchildren, Shari Leiva, Kathy Rosenbaum and fiancé Jose Duran, Shawn and Julie Eldridge, David and Pam Eldridge, Keith and Stacey Eldridge, Karra and Shawn Spacek, Jason and Tasha Ladewig, Bradley Ladewig and Rachelle Wimmer, Ryan and Amie Ladewig, Angie and Jim Baker, Luke Ladewig, Janna and Ryan Haevischer, Amy and Edman Rodriguez, Abby and Alberto Aguilera, Mandy and Heath Kalkhake, Joshua and Ashley Ladewig, Dustin and Achsah Ladewig, Jarod Staggs, Graig Harrison and Lindsey Lange, Torrey Harrison and Amanda Flores, Carson Janish, Wade Weigelt and fiancée Kristen Ging; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Ann “Marian” Dluhos, Janette and Jay Fran Wilson; brother, James Mazoch and friend Dixie Terry.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 24th from 4:00 p.m. until rosary begins at 6:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 25th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham with Rev. Ernesto Elizondo as celebrant. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Eldridge, Graig Harrison, Mandy Kalkhake, Jason Ladewig, Joshua Ladewig, Ryan Ladewig, Blake Rosenbaum, Karra Spacek, Wade Weigelt and Donnie Studhalter. Honorary pallbearers will be all other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
