Dorothy was born August 6, 1952 in Bellville to Otto and Imogene (Hoppe) Macat. She attended schools in Bellville and then in Brenham, when her family moved there. Upon completing cosmetology school, she began her career as a beautician. She was much loved by her customers at Happy Hair, Brenham Beauty Salon, Kruse Village and other nursing homes.

She was fun to be with and enjoyed entertaining and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be: Dean Anderson, Hayden Goodlett, Stephen Hohlt, David Hughes, Jonathan Macat, Joshua Macat, Matt Macat and Darron Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Cole Goodlett.
