I had the privilege of knowing and working with Dr Hrachovy for more than forty years. He was a kind, compassionate physician who always put his patients first and was tireless advocate for their care. He was also a gifted teacher, always willing to share his knowledge and offer sound advice. His wisdom, generosity, and dedication touched countless lives. He will be greatly missed, and I feel fortunate to have known him. He was actually the one that suggested I be an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Things came full circle when I had the opportunity to care for him in the ER. He and I shared a laugh realizing I would not be in the position to care for him if not from his infinite wisdom many years previous.Our heartfelt condolences to his family and all who loved him. Saddened to hear this news. My heart goes out to each of his wonderful daughters and extended family.

What a fun and exciting ride it was to be friends with James and Janie Hrachovy! Their kindness and community giving far exceeded that of most people within the community but more than that they were fun to be with! Dr Hrachovy's dry wit has inscribed many memories on my heart and mind! When I turned 40, he got up at 4:30 AM and put signs all around Brenham announcing my decrepit age! Of course, artistic Janie made the signs but he delivered them to their destinations! It was hilarious! He then went about his day treating patients in his professional and proper manner!!!!
I'm sure that God has reserved a special "reading room" with a comfy chair for James on a big fluffy cloud in heaven! May he rest in peace and reap the rewards for a job well done on earth. He will definitely be missed.

James was our family doctor and good friend. Our families were close and our children went all through school together. We enjoyed many family get togethers and share many memories. The Hrachovy’s have been part of my family’s lives for over 60 years. He was the best friend and Doctor you could ever have and our lives were so much richer for having known him.

So glad to have known this good guy for the long time I did. Such a wonderful man and so kind. What a wonderful reunion when he arrived in Heaven and I know more than anything-it was said-well done, good and faithful servant.
