Dear Duckworth family,
I have enjoyed reading the tributes to Ed in this guestbook. Yes...he was a mighty big man in St. Peter's church and in our community, in every sense of the word. He was truly a role model for so many of us. He gave so unselfishly of his time, talents, and energy for so many years. Such a godly man. Our church will not be the same without him sitting in his usual pew. Your family was so fortunate to have such a fine human being in its midst as were all of us. Yes indeed....there is a new angel in heaven. Praise be to God.

Thinking of all of you and feeling your sorrow.

Wally and family,

Those of us still alive on earth will truly miss Heaven's newest angel. He held such a calm presence that always reflected his Godly beliefs.

I must say that I also have several "Boodles" moments from years ago!

It will take time, I am sure...but you will find peace by wrapping your heart around the knowledge that he is in a much better place.

Be surrounded by His GLORY!

Dear Ted and family:

My father told me last night of your father's passing. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I always thought very highly of Mr. Duckworth as he was always so nice to me when I worked at the county tax office. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to share. Even after I left and moved to Houston he continued to ask my Dad how I was doing. That has stuck with me over the years.

I pray that the special memories you hold will help ease your pain in this difficult time and in the time ahead.

We are shocked and saddened about the sudden death of Ed. I always thought him as the "Father" of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. He was truly as great man and will dearly missed by all.
May the peace and love that comes from the wonderful memories of times shared, comfort you now and in the days to come.

Dearest Wally and all of your family,
I still cannot believe that Eddie could possibly have passed away. He was such a presence in my life from the time I was born, and I will miss him very much. I think of him as a cousin who was always so sweet to me, and I still remember how much my feet hurt in high heels when I was in your wedding. I was so honored to be asked to be a bridesmaid when I was in high school, and I have admired your marriage ever since. I have held him and all of your family in the highest esteem for the values that you have always represented. I would imagine that his children learned from birth the importance of honesty, faith, family, love, commitment, hard work, and fun. No doubt the first word he taught his children and grandchildren was "Aggie". May all of you carry his love and values in your hearts, and his goodness will live on for generations to come.
With love always, Linda Denison

Dear Wally and family: Ed and I became friends in 1947 when we enrolled in A&M. We roomed together for three years, until I graduated. In all these years, I never knew him to hurt any one in any way. He was an honest men, and one of the highest integrity. Even though we didn't visit much, I thought of him many times. We did correspond by e-mail. In case I can't attend the services, we send our sincerest condolences.
May God bless each of you.

Dear Ted & Family,
I am sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I know there is little that can ease the pain your family is experiencing now, but you will find some comfort as you exchange memories with others, especially over the next few days. Stored in a special place in your heart, you will draw on those memories to keep your dad close and the lessons learned from him. Losing a parent is tough, no doubt, but there's a plan and you will see him again. Keeping you in my prayers...
