Edna Plantt

Edna Plantt, age 84 of Brenham, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Scott and White Hospital-Brenham.

Edna was born September 29, 1927 in the Gay Hill Community of Washington County to parents William and Emma (Hahn) Fathauer. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Gay Hill. Edna was educated in Gay Hill and Cedar Hill schools. She was married to Herbert Neumann, the father of her children. On April 4, 1987 she married James G. “Jimmy” Plantt in College Station. She worked many years in sales for Lesters and Bealls in College Station. She enjoyed cooking, canning, making jelly, fishing, bowling, music, dancing, flowers and singing in church.

Her parents, husbands, siblings Nora Johnson, Edwin Fathauer, Esther Smith, Ella Mae Burnside, Raymond Fathauer, Adele Brown, Selma Carr and Herbert Faithauer preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughter Judy Wagner and husband Vernon of Brenham; son Herbert Neumann, Jr. and wife Yolanda; stepchildren Jimmy Allen Plantt and wife Brenda, Sara Norman and husband George; grandchildren Zach and Whitney Wagner, Dawn and Shane; seven step-grandchildren; soon to be arriving great-granddaughter Sydney Clair Wagner, five step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Ann Plant and Hazel Brodreck; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, May 13 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 14 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Rev. David Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Friedens Cemetery, Gay Hill.

Pallbearers are Zach Wagner, John Supak, Jason Supak, Charles Faithauer, Robert Fairlie and Buford “Bubba” Carr.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
