Obituary

Edwin Walter “Buck” Studhalter, age 87 of Brenham, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021.

Edwin was born on December 13, 1933 in the Gay Hill Community of Washington County to Otto and Clara Konrad Studhalter. Edwin was baptized on June 10, 1934 at First Lutheran Church of Somerville. He was confirmed at Evangelical and Reformed Church of Gay Hill on July 20, 1947. On December 11, 1955, he was married to Annie Mae Hofschnieder at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. He remained a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Edwin was educated through the Gay Hill School. He went on to become a painting contractor as well as a hardworking rancher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and attending St. Matthew’s Game Night. His favorite pastimes were coon hunting and fishing on the Brazos River. His beloved dog, Missy, never left his side.

Edwin is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Annie Mae Studhalter; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Royce Lehrmann; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kay Studhalter; daughter and son-in-law, Danna and Alan Winkelmann; grandchildren, Allison Lehrmann and Kayla Hartmann, Katherine and Derek Chang, Christopher Lehrmann and fiancé Cheyanne Koehne, Blake Winkelmann and Haley Nutt, Dane Winkelmann and Bridget Stein, Lauren Winkelmann, Kailey and Colten Walker, Chase Parker, Seth and Stephanie Parker, Caleb and Carlee Jo Parker; 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Studhalter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edwin is preceded in death by: his parents; twin brother, Edward “Mouse” Studhalter; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Adeline Studhalter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Walline and Olan Seale and Evelyn and Milton Haack; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reinhardt and Emma Hofschnieder.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews: Don and Alice Studhalter, James and Karen Studhalter, Jean and Gene King, Janis Broussard, Cathy and Steve Mallon, and Curtis Seale; cousins, Mary and James Hamilton; and friend Barbara Kohring.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Marilyn, Veronica, Lisa, Ronnie, Anna, Debra, Gwen and D’Andre for their excellent care, love and support, as well as the care from Texas Home Health.

Memorials may be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill.

Viewing will be available on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

A private family service and burial will be held.
