Obituary
Elizabeth Wendling, 95, of Brenham passed away July 19, 2006 at her residence.
She was born July 10, 1911 to Charles and Gussie Lee Bailey Bradford in Huntsville, Texas. She married Walter T. Wendling on March 16, 1946 in Houston. For the majority of her life, Mrs. Wendling worked as a private duty care assistant in the nursing field. She joined St. Mary’s Catholic Church in 1951. Mrs. Wendling was a Girl Scout leader, held offices in PCCW, and also in PTO at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Wendling is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter T. Wendling; son, Bobby J. Wendling; infant daughter, Jacquelyn Wendling; son-in-law, Frank Hensen; grandson, Michael Hensen; great-grandson, Justin Hensen; step-daughter, Pauline Ruley; three brothers; one sister.
She is survived by: son, William Glen “Billy” Wendling of Brenham; daughter, Dotty Wendling Hensen of Brenham; grandchildren, Franklin and wife Phyllis Hensen of Somerville, Vincent Hensen and fiancé Cindy Beckendorf of Brenham, Shawn and wife Charlotte Hensen of Brenham, Walter Ruley of Brookshire, Dan Ruley of Katy, Joan Morgan of Corpus Christi, Karen Bivens of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, J.B. Bradford and wife Gertie of Madisonville; sister-in-law, Frances Myers of Huntsville; special relatives, Alvin and Joyce Massey of LaPorte, Alvin and Jean Downs of Port Lavaca; numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Brenham Memorial Chapel, from 6:00-8:00 P.M., with a rosary commencing at 7:00 P.M. Deacon Brion Zarsky will recite the rosary.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 21, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father David Ivey as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Vincent Hensen, Billie Morgan, W. R. Fabian, Cody Beckendorf, Trevor Beckendorf, and Randy Schwartz. Honorary pallbearers will be W. N. Fabian, Jr. and W. F. Hasskarl, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Hospice Brenham.
