Obituary

Elsie Franke Hahn, 90 of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005 in Trinity Care Center.

On October 30, 1914 she was born to Paul and Frieda Bernhart Franke in Brenham. She was baptized on May 23, 1915 by Rev. Johann Mgebroff and confirmed September 2, 1928 by Rev. William Utesch both in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin. She attended Washington County school at Longpoint. On October 14, 1940 she was united in marriage to Walter Hahn at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church by Rev. William Utesch. Mrs. Walter Hahn was a homemaker and lifelong member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin. She loved cooking and she loved to work with flowers.

Mrs. Hahn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter on April 15, 2003 and brother Herman Franke.

Mrs. Walter Hahn is survived by sisters-in-law Selma Franke of Brenham and Louise Loesch of the Wiedeville Community; niece Betty Goerlitz and husband Dan, nephew Charles Franke and wife Angelie and niece Ruth Ann Maass and husband Jerry all of Brenham along with great and great-great nieces and nephews and special friends Gary Weyand and Ann Schulz families.

Visitation with Mrs. Walter Hahn’s family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2005 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Franke, Sr., Dan Goerlitz, Franklin Goerlitz, Charles Franke, Jr., Jeffrey Maass, Kevin Burnett, Gary Weyand and Justin Weyand.

Memorials may be given to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, 356 South Berlin Road, Brenham, Texas 77833.
