Elsie Louise Sander

Elsie Louise Kaechele Sander was born March 3, 1920 in Kenney, Austin County, Texas. Elsie entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan, TX.

Elsie was the daughter and only child of Grover and Ida Loesch Kaechele. She was baptized on May 2, 1920 at St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem by Pastor H. Poehlmann and confirmed on August 26, 1934 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg by Pastor C. P. Hasskarl. On March 30, 1941, Elsie was joined in holy matrimony with Henry Otto Sander.

Surviving Elsie are her daughter Deloris Draehn, son Donald Lee and wife Sheila Sander and son Fred Henry and wife Ann Sander. Grandchildren are Connie D. Draehn, Keith and Tara Draehn, Heather and Dean Wilson, Holly and Dave Brunnert. Great-Grandchildren are Haley, Ashley and Abby Brunnert, Dylan and Dawson Draehn and Cooper and Addison Wilson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Viola Warmke and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, H. O., son-in-law Elwood Draehn, grandson Russell Draehn, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Arthur and Alma Sander, Paul and Selma Sander, Irwin and Emma Sander, Raymond and Hilda Sander, and Ed Sander.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, January 13 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 14 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Travis Ray Sander, Erwin Sander, Jr., Floyd Kobs, Elgin Klausmeyer, Ralph Poehlmann, and Odis Haynes. Honorable pallbearers are Lenard Lehmann and Nelson Wellmann.

Memorials may be given in her name to Salem Lutheran Church of charity of your choice.
