Obituary

Ernie Leach Jr went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 to 11:00 o’clock in the morning July 11, 2019 in West End Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 o’clock in the church.

He was born on September 12, 1941 in Houston, TX. to Ernest Sr. and Billie Leach. He graduated from Reagan High School in 1960 and went on to attend Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, TX and the University of Houston. On September 5, 1962 he was united in marriage to Jackie Mumma.
Ernie spent his post-war childhood growing up in the Heights area of Houston. On any given day he could be found raising trouble with his siblings, playing baseball until dark or chasing the girl who would become the love of his life, Jackie. He spent his early career as a milk man for Foremost Dairy, owned a fiberglass production company with his brother Donnie and worked with his brother-in-law John at Thompson Delivery. He found his true calling when he went to work for himself, spending more than 30 years as a gifted wood worker, specializing in the restoration and reproduction of fine antique furniture.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jackie Leach; son Randy Leach and wife Stephanie, son Marty Leach and wife Heather; grandchildren Taylor Leach, Joshua Leach and significant other Emma Rademacher, and Cora Leach and significant other Kody Miller; great grandchildren Dean and Stella Miller; sisters Deanna Ammons and husband Stan, Ginnie Donaghe and husband Frank; sister-in-law Buelah Leach; sister-in-law Donna Leach; and brother-in-law John Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret and Jack Mumma, his brothers David Leach and Donnie Leach and sister Doodie Thompson.
