Evelyn was born September 21, 1928 to parents Ed W. and Alma (Weiss) Hodde in the Salem Community of Washington County. She was baptized October 29, 1928 by Rev. William Utesch and confirmed April 18, 1943 by Rev. A. J. Mohr. She attended Salem School and graduated from Brenham High School. On October 3, 1970, Evelyn was united in marriage to Franklin Menn by Pastor F. T. Sager at Salem Lutheran Church.

Evelyn was employed as a legal secretary by Attorney Bill Tomachefsky of Stone Abstract Co. and Tri-Title of Washington County. In her retirement, she was an avid reader and enjoyed reaching out to friends. Evelyn was much loved by everyone who came to know her. She always kept family and friends in her prayers.

She was a lifelong active member of Salem Lutheran Church. Evelyn was a Junior Lutherans Leader and involved with Luther League. She was involved in Ladies Aid Circle, served as an usher and greeter, and prepared and served food for funerals. Evelyn cared about the shut-ins and sent cards. She weekly contacted the church office to find out who was on the prayer list and sent them cards of care and encouragement.

For safety of the family and each other we ask that masks be worn and distancing be practiced when attending both visitation and funeral service.
