Evelyn (Klussmann) Muery

Evelyn Klussmann Muery, 88, of Brenham, passed away on December 20, 2017.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, 2017, and funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, both at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery. Rev. Matthew Jacobs will officiate.

Evelyn was born on October 25, 1929, to Martin and Henrietta (Boenker) Klussmann. She grew up in the William Penn community of Washington County. Evelyn married Delbert Clinton Muery on September 26, 1949. Evelyn and Delbert made their home in Houston and raised two daughters, Carol and Brenda.

In their retirement, Evelyn and Delbert returned to Brenham. Evelyn was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to dances, quilting, reading, and watching her favorite television shows. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for friends and family. Above all, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world, and she cherished each one of them.

Survivors include: daughters, Carol (Bobby) Blum, Brenda Schulz; grandchildren Stacey (Thomas) Polson, Kimberly (Refik) Ataman, Nicole (Cheri) Schulz, Marlyn Schulz; great-grandchildren, Evan Polson, Adelina Ataman, Charlie Lynn Schulz; sisters, Joyce (Bill) Thomas, Olivia Dannhaus, Emmie Colburn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Evelyn is preceded in death by parents; husband of 60 years, Delbert, on November 27, 2009; son-in-law Kevin Schulz, and others.
