Obituary
Fern Elaine (Knight) Kroll age 84 of Brenham and the widow of Fred H. Kroll went peacefully to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Her body will lie in state at Brenham Memorial Chapel on Thursday,
May 1st from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Fern was born May 5, 1929 to parents George Peter Knight and Thelma Jewel (Roach) Knight in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she graduated from West High School. Later her mother married Morris Shapiro. Fern was married October 8, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Fred H. Kroll before he passed away on August 12, 2006 just shy of their 60th Wedding Anniversary. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she held a teaching position at Grace Lutheran School. Fern was a lifetime member of the Girls Scouts, The American Legion and The Fortnightly Club. Gardening was a huge interest for her.
Her husband Fred H. Kroll, sister Kay Buchwald and brother Norman Shapiro preceded Fern in death.
Loving family members survive: daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Morris Faske, Karen and Richard Andresky, Kristene and David Ottmer; son and daughter-in-law Mark F. and Karen Kroll; grandchildren Melissa and Bart Seilheimer, Shannon and Steven Robertson, Deanna Landon; great-grandchildren Karli Seilheimer, Lane Robertson; sisters and brother-in-law Nancy Pierce, Lois and Joe Brainich along with nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give their thank you to special caregiver, Brenda Fielder, and other caregivers at Texas Home Health Hospice as well.
Pallbearers will be Morris Faske, Richard Andresky, David Ottmer, Bart Seilheimer, Steven Robertson, Jerry Merten and Walter Moffett.
