Florence (Bartniski) Derkowski

Florence (Bartniski) Derkowski, age 84 died peacefully on May 27, 2018 at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a day spent with her family by her side.

A celebration of her life will be held at Brenham Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Family will greet friends from 5 o’clock until 7 o‘clock in the evening with vigil at 7 o’clock led by Deacon Al Prescott.

Funeral Mass will be 10 o’clock in the morning, Thursday, May 31, 2018 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill with Rev. William Bartniski celebrant and Rev. Jozef Musiol con-celebrant. Burial will follow in church cemetery.

A loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grandmother, Florence was born November 9, 1933 to Steve and Frances (Kopycinski) Bartniski in Brenham. On April 14,1951 she married Mike Derkowski and had two children.

Florence is survived by her children; Deborah and special someone Randy Haverlah, Michael Derkowski and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Ben Ware (Sarah), Brady Ware, Mary Sorensen (Josh), Brian Derkowski (Darcy), Michelle Derkowski, and one great-grandson Isaac Michael Ware.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 sisters, 1 brother, and twin grandsons.

Florence will be remembered for her contagious smile, awesome cooking skills and sweet and welcoming personality as she served so many of you at LaCocina, Chappell Hill Cafe, Sillavans and Funky Art Cafe.
