Florence (Warmke) Drews

Florence Drews, 77 of Brenham, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020.

Florence was born August 17, 1942 in Brenham to parents Reinhard and Irma Wiesepape Warmke. She was baptized November 8, 1942 at Salem Lutheran Church and confirmed March 25, 1956 at Welcome Lutheran Church. Florence attended Wesley School and graduated from Brenham High School. At a Shelby Hall dance, she met Willis Drews. They were married October 14, 1962 at Welcome Lutheran Church. Florence was hard working and employed at numerous places including The Truck Stop, BISD cafeteria, Blinn College, Brenham Banner Press and Brenham State School. Florence was also attentive to her family’s needs and a protective mother.

She was preceded in death by parents, infant son Doyle Drews, granddaughter Kaitlyn Drews, infant brother and sister, brother Jerry Warmke, niece Cammie Ganske.

Surviving family includes, husband of 57 years Willis Drews, son Darrell Drews and Kim Kopecky, sister-in-law Carolyn Warmke.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 6 at 10 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating.

Pallbearers will be Cabin Warmke, Mike Ganske, Todd Poehlmann, Scott Drews, Rick Davenport, Ron Bartay. Honorary pallbearers will be Billie Schmidt, Gene VanZandt, Nelson Zibilski, Ray Drews and all previous employers.

Memorials are requested to Salem Lutheran Church and Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
