Franklin Wayne Grizzaffi - Guestbook

Grizzaffi family,
I am deeply saddened by Mr. Frankie's passing. My heart is heavy for your loss. I had the pleasure of being in the same CPAAA class at BPD years ago. He was a pleasure to be around and his smile was contagious. Never saw him without it.
With sincere condolences,

My sincere condolences to all of you. I have so many fond memories of Frankie in our younger days. With our Dads being Partners we became more than friends we were family. Frankie was always making us laugh. He loved being in the Houston Fire Department and loved being a Paramedic. I pray for peace and comfort for all of you. God Bless!

As said, we are just passing through this world. Y’all’s loved one did just that and walked his way to heaven. His journey of life was long and got tiring, so now he sits & walks with the angels & has a camera in his hands. Oh, what beautiful scenery he must be enjoying. Listen closely, when alone, you may hear the click of the camera when he takes a picture.
Don’t cry, only his body is gone, his spirit is around y’all as he watches over & protects his loving family.

I want to start by expressing my sorrow for your loss!
I had the opportunity to work side by side with Frank on Ambulance 8 back in 1981. I had just been promoted to Chauffeur and was assigned to Fire Station 8 where Frank was the Paramedic and I was his driver. Little did I know at the time that Frank would have such a profound impact on my career. During my tenure working with Frank I was fortunate enough to learn from whom I considered to be the best paramedic in the city. One example of this was, you did not get assigned as a Paramedic to a busy Ambulance unless you possessed exceptional life saving skills. The Houston Fire Department’s Medical Director (Dr. Paul Pepe) made sure of this. If anyone were to ever doubt this, it was Ambulance 8 that was taken out of service by the Deputy Chief over EMS (Whitey Martin) at the time and assigned to the Vice Presidential motorcade for George HW Bush when he would come to Houston. I was a Chauffeur/E.M.T. (Emergency Medical Technician) at the time. It was Frank that encouraged me to go to Paramedic School. I soon signed up and followed in Frank’s footsteps. After becoming a Chauffeur/Paramedic I was reassigned back to Station 8 to work once again side by side with the greatest Paramedic that I ever had the opportunity to work with.
Rest In Peace my brother!!!
