Gary Barnes

Gary Austin Barnes, 82, passed away on May 14, 2021. Gary was born on December 19, 1938 in Sioux City, Iowa to Walter and Olga Barnes.

Gary was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a hard working man who spent many years as a salesman for different companies but most of his years with Dixon Furniture and Magic Chef. Gary enjoyed music, playing his guitar, singing, reading and spending time good friends but was most passionate about his family.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; DeEtta Barnes, their children; Luana Miller and Garry Barnes, grandchildren; Bryce and Kristina Miller, Logan and Autumn Miller and Breanne and Evan Brown and great-grandchildren; Bowen and Rheya Miller.

Family will begin receiving friends on Wednesday, May 19 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 20, at 12:30 pm at Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
