Gayle Ann Major

Gayle Major, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Brenham on July 10, 2019.

Gayle was born on February 2, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Talmage and Beulah Crawford. She graduated from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge in 1960. She moved to Houston, Texas with her youngest daughter in 1982. After many years of hard work, Gayle purchased a home in Spring, Texas in 1998 and lived there until 2018 when she moved to Brenham.

Gayle worked tirelessly throughout her life to provide for her daughters and instill important values that continue to guide them in their own lives.

Gayle is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James Lee; daughter and fiancé, Lisa Major and Albert J. Caruso, III; sister, Mary Shaw; niece and nephew Mary Jane and Phil Wuertz; grandnephew, Troy Wuertz; grandsons, Corey and Cody Boniol; and granddaughter, Taylor Lee.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the wonderful caregivers from Texas Home Health and Hospice. Your kindness, support, and loving care to not only our precious Mom but also to our family is truly a gift!

Rosary at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2019, followed by memorial service at 11:00 AM in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. William Plotts officiating. A no host luncheon will follow at Orman’s Steakhouse in Brenham.
