Obituary

Geneva (Tomkivits) Bilski, 72, of Brenham passed away at home on Monday, July 14, 2008.

Geneva was born February 4, 1936 to Bronus and Antonia (Busa) Tomkivits in Stoneham, Texas. On October 23, 1954, she married Julian Bilski in Anderson at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and moved to Brenham. Geneva was a housewife who loved her family, friends, vegetable gardening, and most especially her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her son Eugene, parents, parents-in-law Wallace and Veronica, two sisters, Thelma Tomkivits and Willie Mae Burzynski, three brothers, Joe, William and John Billy Tomkivits all of Stoneham, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Janie and Max Majewski and two brothers-in-law Ed and Steve Bilski all of Brenham.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Julian Bilski; sons Leonard Bilski and special friend Rosa Sloan; James Bilski and wife Traci; daughters Annette Bilski and Bonnie Griffin all of Brenham; daughter-in-law Betty Arnold of Houston; caregiver Al Cardenas and special beloved friend Caroline Weed; six grandsons; four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by three brothers Lester and wife Marie, Steve and wife Kathy, Danny and wife Melanie Tomkivits along with numerous nieces and nephews all of Stoneham; one brother-in-law Alois Bilski and two sisters-in-law Regina and Dorothy Bilski, along with numerous nieces and nephews all of Brenham.

Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., with Rosary recited by Monsignor Benedict Zientek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father David Ivey as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Ryan and Nicholas Bilski, Adam and Sean Griffin and nephews Paul Burzynski and Glen Tomkivits. Honorary pallbearers are Clarence Majewski and Ted Burzynski.
