Geraldine Gerry Adamson

Geraldine Gonsoulin Adamson passed away on December 14, 2012, surrounded by her loving family in Cedar Park, TX. Gerry was born in Port Arthur, TX on March 28, 1921, to Horace and Georgie Gonsoulin. She was the oldest of three children and graduated from Jefferson High School and Port Arthur Business School. After graduation she worked various bookkeeping and banking jobs. She married Thomas J. Adamson Jr., the love of her life, on August 23, 1945 after his return from WWII, where he served his country as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. They lived in Dallas, TX and Temple, TX prior to moving to Lima, Peru where Tom flew for Faucett Airlines. Upon their return to the US they moved to Houston, TX and in 1952, settled in Brenham, TX.

Gerry was a talented and well known Texas artist, specializing in watercolor, as well as pen and ink sketches of historical buildings and homes in the Washington County area. She owned Tom and Gerry’s Picture and Frame Shoppe and was an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Tom (1971), her sister Ozelle Gonsoulin Lachausse, her parents, brothers-in-laws, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her four daughters and their spouses: Kathy Green of Indian Land, SC; Jan and Terry Hagood of Marble Falls, TX; Terrie Adamson of Dallas, TX and Lisa and Gary Johnson of Palm Desert, CA. Grandchildren include Leslie Green Hunter and husband Jeff; Amy Pattillo Power; Shannon Pattillo Elizalde and husband Tony; Thomas Johnson and wife Tracy; Courtney Johnson and Drew Johnson. In addition, she is survived by 5 great grandchildren, her sister Myrna Lee Gonsoulin Becker and numerous nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law.

Visitation will be held at Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham, Texas 77833 on Thursday, December 20 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 2310 Airline Drive, Brenham, TX 77834, on Friday December 21, at 9:30 AM, with burial following at Prairie Lea Cemetery, 1004 Prairie Lea St. Brenham, TX 77833. A reception will follow at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Pall bearers will be Caden Elizalde, Tony Elizalde, Terry Hagood, Drew Johnson, Gary Johnson and Thomas Johnson. Honorary pall bearers will be David Green and Jeff Hunter.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, the Alzheimer’s Association or Susan G. Komen for the Cure, in lieu of flowers.
