Gertrude Cegielski Zientek

Gertrude Zientek, 85 of Brenham, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Memorial Herman Northwest Hospital in Houston.

She was born April 30, 1919 in Chappell, Texas to Pete and Stella (Majewski) Cegielski and attended school in Chappell Hill. Gertrude married Max Zientek on October 27, 1937 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Gertrude's loving family includes: her husband Max Zientek of Brenham; daughter Angeline Januszewski and husband Albin; sons Daniel Zientek and wife Barbara, Pete Zientek and wife Clara all of Houston; brother Bennie Cegelski and wife Stephanie of Houston; grandchildren Tommie Januszewski and wife Kim, John Zientek and wife Tracey, Michael Zientek, Christopher Zientek, Dale Zientek and wife Karen, Larry Zientek and wife Pam, Becky Anderson and husband Keith, Debbie Zientek, Diane Vento and husband Steve, Tina Lahrmann and husband Michael; 14 great grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2004 in Brenham Memorial Chapel by Deacon Bill Januszewski.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2004 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Benedict Zientek as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandchildren.
