Gilbert Guerra

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gilbert Guerra, a loving and devoted father and friend to all whose lives he touched, on September 5, 2021. Gilbert passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.

Gilbert was born on May 16, 1971 and grew up in Three League, Texas. Gilbert graduated from Klondike High School and Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater. Gilbert met the loves of his life, Sonia and their son, Ali, in 2006. Sonia and Gilbert were married on March 8, 2010. The family then moved to Brenham in July of 2012.

Gilbert certainly knew how to live life to the fullest. He devoted himself to being a great father and husband, always putting his family first. He treasured every precious moment spent with his son, Ali. He never failed to make people laugh and was a friend to all those he met. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his dearly departed wife, Sonia Guerra, his infant son, Nickolas Noel Guerra, his beloved Mother, Paula Guerra, and his brother, Gabriel Guerra.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Ali Abubaker, Jr., his father, Bernabe I. Guerra, brothers and sisters-in-law Ismael and Amy Guerra, Johnny and Estella Guerra, Jessie Guerra, Robert and MaryAnn Guerra, Alfredo and Lisa Guerra, Andreas and Jamie Guerra; sisters and brothers-in-law Elida and Joe Dimas, Isabel and Joe Macias, Julia and Jinkin Ortiz; his dear friends Cynthia and Roy Ellis, Tony and Lourdes Ortiz and their families; along with numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, September 10, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 11 at 11 a.m. Both will be held at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
