Obituary

Glenwood H. Buerger, 72, of Brenham passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at his residence.

He was born in New Wehdem, Austin County, Texas on November 15, 1932 to Henry W. and Marie Goessler Buerger. Glenwood was baptized December 18, 1932 and confirmed on March 30, 1947 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. He attended Austin County school and received his Associates Degree in Business from Blinn College. Glenwood served in the Korean War. On May 17, 1953 he was united in marriage to Annie Mae Peters in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem by Rev. R. C. Albert. Glenwood was a member Christ Lutheran Church, the V.F.W., the American Legion and Sons of Hermann. He was the co-owner of Brenham Heating and Air Conditioning and he retired from Brenham I.S.D.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Albert L. Peters and brothers-in-law Fred Henske, C. H. “Pat” Petzolt and Eldon Mikeska, Sr.

Glenwood’s survivors include his wife Annie Mae Buerger; mother-in-law Annie Peters; son Matthew H. Buerger and wife Tricia A.; daughter Janie L. Branham and husband Bobby J. all of Brenham; grandchildren Crystal L. Branham and fiancé David Alavarces, Amber D. Branham, Kyle J. Branham, Amy B. Buerger and Brianne A. Buerger; great-grandchildren Marion Espinoza and Jordyn Branham; sister Florence M. Henske and friend George of Eagle Lake, TX; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Deloris Mikeska, Edna Petzolt, Doris and David Siptak, William Peters, Floreen and Herbert Schulze, Gladys and J. C. Mondrofsky, Carolyn and Antone Kubeczka, Elois and Johnnie Lee Eickenhorst.

Visitation with the family with be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2004 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2004 at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Arnon Lundborg officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers are his grandchildren along with Eldon Mikeska, Jr. and Josh Sebastian. Honorary pallbearers are all his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please give memorials to Christ Lutheran Church Day School.
