Obituary

Gregory Scott Peevler of Industry, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 4, 2018.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 7, from 12:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 1:00 pm, both at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Industry. Pastor Dennis Keen will officiate.

Greg was the oldest son of Garland and Annette Peevler. He grew up in Alief, TX. Greg was a devoted Christian who loved his family and spending time with them. Music was a huge part of his life. Greg was a talented vocalist and musician. He started playing guitar at the age of 10. He started at an early age singing with his dad and brother at church and later was an original member of the Taste of Texas band. He was an advocate of Traditional Country Music as well as Country Gospel, Western Swing, and Bluegrass Music. He along with his brother, Mark, started and produced the Four County Opry in Industry, TX. He was also proud to have passed on his musical talents to his daughter, Amanda, who has become a talented singer, songwriter, and musician in her own right. He loved singing harmony with her at the Opry.

Greg, was a Born-Again Believer in Jesus Christ and knew where his final destination would be. He let his love of Christ shine through him in everything that he did and never ran short on Faith. He built his family on the foundation of Christ. He married Donella Mayfield Peevler in 1991 and had been married for 26 years. The love that they shared set a beautiful Christian example of what true love and commitment means. Greg and Donella shared a love that reflected Christ’s love. You could never see a better set of best friends. In 1996 they had their only child Amanda Kay Peevler. Greg was the ideal role-model that a father should be and his daughter looked up to him in everything that he did. The daddy-daughter bond that these two shared is inseparable. They loved spending time together.

Family was Greg’s main priority and he loved being surrounded by people. In addition to spending time with his wife and daughter, he spent his time joking around and cutting up with his brother, Mark. Greg and Mark were the ultimate duo and known to many as the “Peevler Brothers”. When put together these two would without a doubt find a way to make you laugh and smile until your gut hurt. Greg certainly loved a good laugh.

Gregory is survived by wife Donella; daughter, Amanda Kay Peevler; mother, Josephine Peevler; brother, Mark Peevler and wife Karrie; niece Sarah Bentke and husband Corey; nephew, Matthew Peevler; mother-in-law Billie Anderson; and brother-in-law, Ronald Mayfield. Greg is preceded in death by his father, Garland Peevler.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Peevler, Corey Bentke, Donald Wright, Kenneth Jackson, Jeff Allen, Jimmy Calhoun, and Gary Budewig. Honorary pallbearers are Keith Junot, John Buehler, Russel Prause, Rick Weiss, and Neil Kulhanik.

Greg was a Husband, Father, Son, Son-in-law, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He touched everyone that he encountered and will be missed by so many. However, friends and family find comfort in knowing that he is in Heaven in the presence of Jesus. One day, we will meet him again in the arms of the Lord.
