What I remember most tangibly when I first met Gwen was the presence of mischievousness and curiosity. I was reminded of the first leaf drop from an unexpected autumn wind, or that first fresh smell of spring after a light rainfall. The kind of feelings and senses you remember from your childhood, when real was real. That sense was always there when she was present, regardless of meeting purpose or intent. Freshness.

In the brief time I knew her, she was young, forever young and curious of the other, the to be known, the new, attributes that help make life feel vital and original. Her's was a natural gift of genuioness and kindness that will be missed.

My deepest condolences to her beloved husband of ±50 years Ed Smith, her 2 children Edward and Charlotte, her son-in-law Michael and her new-law Jennifer.
