Harold H. “Bubba” Wagner, 71, of Brenham passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 in Trinity Care Center.
Harold was born October 6, 1937 in Brenham to Henry and Esther (Niemeyer) Wagner. He was baptized November 7, 1937 and confirmed April 6, 1952 in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Harold served our country in the Army National Guard and in the Army Reserves. On October 8, 1961 he married Doris Grimm in the same church by Pastor Louis Kramer. Harold worked for the City of Brenham and was later self-employed. He collected John Deere Tractors and anything John Deere, old model cars and coins.
His parents, parents-in-law Raymond and Alma Grimm, unnamed brother who died at childbirth, sister and brother-in-law Jane and Ocie Helmer, sister-in-law Doris Wagner, brother-in-law Ronnie Kraker, sister-in-law Helen Konieczny, brother-in-law Albin Jasinski, nephew Russell Helmer and great niece Angelita Chavelas preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife Doris Wagner, sons and daughter-in-law Mike Wagner, Brian Wagner, Jason (Rachel) Wagner; daughters and sons-in-law Tammy (David) Schwartz, Krystal (Dirk) Weatherly, grandchildren Nicholas Schwartz, Andrew Wagner, Madilyn Weatherly; brothers and sister-in-law Vernon (Judy) Wagner, Arvin Wagner, sisters and brothers-in-law Janice (Robert) Fairlie, Jeannette (Barry) Kraker, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rosa (Jim) Troy, Gernell Jasinski, Patsy (“Pee Wee”) Kalkhake, Carol Krivacka (Bennett Sachtleben), Judy (Bubba) Mantey, Terry (Clinton) Mantey, Debbie (Marvin) Roehling, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law James “Bubba” (Carolyn) Grimm, George Konieczny, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 4 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2009 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Fred Westerfeld, Randy Schwartz, Jerry Schwartz, Ande Bostain, Jimmy Jasinski and Jeff Grimm. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren Nicholas Schwartz, Andrew Wagner and Madilyn Weatherly; also “Pee Wee” Kalkhake and James “Bubba” Grimm.
Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
