Obituary

Harold Hollingsworth, Jr. went home to his Heavenly Father on March 15, 2012.

He was born on June 1, 1953 to Harold and Ann Hollingsworth as the second of four children. He was raised in Mississippi where he grew up working with his father on cattle ranches. He was always interested in the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish as a boy. He later participated in local rodeos and always remained a cowboy at heart.

His lifelong career was heavy road construction, where he was a supervisor and one of the best foremen and asphalt designers in his field. He worked for over thirty years in both Mississippi and Texas before being forced into early retirement by muscular dystrophy in 2002.

God and family were the focal points of his life. He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He became a loving husband on July 3, 1976 when he married his wife, Liz. They were married for over thirty-five years and became the proud parents of four children– two boys and two girls.

His devotion to the Lord was an inspiration to everyone who knew him, and he studied his Bible faithfully and prayed everyday.

He is survived by his wife, Liz Hollingsworth, his children, daughter, Cassandra Hollingsworth; son, Matthew Hollingsworth, and his wife, Anna; daughter, Samantha Hollingsworth; son, Ethan Hollingsworth, and his wife, Laura; a grandson, Elijah Hollingsworth; his mother, Ann Hollingsworth; sisters, Peggy Overman and Joyce Hollingsworth, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jimmy Hollingsworth; father, Harold Hollingsworth, Sr.; brother-in-law, John Overman, and niece, Jessica Gaylord.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Brenham Memorial Chapel in Brenham, Texas.
