Obituary

Harry Wehring, 86 of Brenham, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020.

Visitation will be from 7:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Shea Berbaum officiating.

Harry was born October 11, 1933 in Brenham to parents Otto and Hattie (Schulz) Wehring. He attended Prairie Hill School and a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, where he was baptized, confirmed and on November 9, 1958 was united in marriage to Janet Finke by Pastor Louis Kramer. His employment began with carpentry with his father and family, worked for Kranco in Sugarland and Wehring Country Store. He was a supervisor for Mid-West Steel Company in Houston from where he retired due to his debilitating accident. Harry was a band member in Clarence Witt and The Trail Riders. He enjoyed dancing, videotaping weddings and anniversaries and loved his dog Lucy. His pastimes were gardening, picking pecans, making hay with Johnny, listening to Brenham Cubs, Houston Astros and The Country Store on Brenham Radio and sitting at Fireman’s Park counting the many cars that ran the stop sign.

Survivors include wife Janet Finke Wehring; son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Laurie Wehring; daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Johnny Randermann; grandchildren Jennifer and Ryan Schroeder, Jill and Trevor Eckert, Jessica Wehring Mertz and special friend John Gajeske; step-grandson Joseph Farwell; great-grandchildren Rhett and Rilynn Schroeder, Gunnar Eckert, Jaden and Korbin Mertz; brother and sister-in-law Otto and Doris Wehring; number of nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Hattie (Schulz) Wehring; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Lena (Schulze) Finke; brother Wilburn and Lorine Wehring; sisters and brothers-in-law Eileen and Paul Wehmeyer, Helen and Alfred Bockhorn, Mavis and Paul Zuehlke, niece Betty Wehmeyer, nephew Jeffrey Bockhorn, and brother-in-law Jerry Finke.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill or charity of choice.

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer St., Brenham.
