Dear Family,

Of course I am so sad that Aunt DeDe has passed on... She was such a wonderful person, and had such a positive effect on so many family members and friends. We were all shaped by her love.

Looking back, I have a lot of wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.

The Dallas/Houston cousin exchange back in the 60's allowed me to experience the "Summer Days on Terwilliger", which were amazing. That was the Summer that the Beach Boys came out with "I Get Around" (one of the best songs of the 20th Century). That was also the summer of Skateboarding becoming famous (and the unfortunate demise of Bay's metal roller skates).

I also love all the times we spend in Galveston at the first "Crackerbox" beach house in Sea Isle. So many great memories during our summer visits. To this day, I feel so fortunate to have spent time growing up with Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Something very special to me.

Most importantly, with each visit, Aunt Dede took care of me like I was one of her own, and I will never forget her loving ways. Here it is 55+ years later, and she is still one of my all time lifetime favorites. What a truly wonderful lady.

I am wishing the families some peace of mind and serenity as you navigate this difficult time. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you.

All our Love,

Bay,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom DeDe. I never did get the chance to meet her, but I know how much she was loved by you. Sending love & hugs to you and your family.

Dearest Dede, You were such a huge influence in my life for all my years. I looked up to you with adoration as a child and that matured into tremendous respect for you as an adult. I hope you really knew how deeply I meant it the last time that I talked with you and told you how you had always been a hero to me. I cannot now, and could not then, begin to explain the depths of my heart expressed in those simple words. But anyway...you exemplified love and grace and classiness. I love you so very much and will miss you always til we meet again. Thank you so very much for loving me. Your gentle, unique voice will echo through my life forever.

I will be keeping all of you in prayer, my dearest cousins, as you walk through this time of the loss of your beloved mother/grandmother/great grandmother. I saw where you, Bay, wrote about her legacy of love and I pray that as days turn into weeks of missing her, that her legacy will be there to wrap each of your hearts in a cushion of her love until you all are reunited again. You are so very much in my heart and I am praying for each of you. All my love, Sissy
