Obituary

Irvin Rosenbaum, 77, of Brenham, passed away Monday, March 27, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center.

Irvin was born November 18, 1928, to August and Rose Lee Wilkening Rosenbaum in the Rehburg Community. He was baptized March 3, 1929 by Pastor C. A. Lehne in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg and confirmed August 6, 1942 by Pastor Paul Czerkus in the same church. On November 22, 1953, he married Virgine Baron at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, by Rev. R.J. Weber. Irvin proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as an auto mechanic for 59 years, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Ben Baron, and mother-in-law, Frances Baron; brothers, Lonnie Rosenbaum, Willie Rosenbaum, Sherwood Rosenbaum; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; one nephew.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Virgine Baron Rosenbaum; daughter, Carol Ann Sommerfeld and husband Roger, of Carmine; sons, Gary and wife Diana Rosenbaum, of Brenham, and Lary and wife Dixie Rosenbaum, of Round Top; brother, Earl and wife Jannet Rosenbaum, of Brenham; sisters, Ruby and husband Horace Boyd, of Call, Juanita Seilheimer, of Brenham, Geneva Herrmann, of Brenham, and Mary Randermann, of Brenham; grandchildren, Justin and Elizabeth Sommerfeld, of Edna, Melissa and Jason Smith, of Carmine, Brittany Ridley, of Round Top, and Sean and Jill Rosenbaum, of Brenham; sisters-in-law, Alvina Rosenbaum, of Burton, and Ella Mae Love, of Brenham; brothers-in-law, Leroy and wife Jean Baron, of Brenham, and Leroy and wife Gladys Hodde, of Brenham along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, March 29, 2006, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2006, at 10:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Darryl Herrmann, Bobby Seilheimer, Glenn Rosenbaum, Travis Rosenbaum, Randy Hodde, and Bradley Hodde. Honorary pallbearers are Irvin’s grandchildren.
