Jack Baird

Jack London Baird Jr., 73, passed away on January 19, 2021 in Burton, Texas. He was born on June 9, 1947 in Sinton, Texas to Jack and Louise (Brandenburg) Baird.

Jack grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1965. He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Gunston Hall and earned himself the honor of being a Vietnam Veteran. Upon his discharge from the Navy he returned to the Houston area and was a machinist for FMC for over 35 years. He recently moved to Burton, Texas to spend time and be closer to his family whom he adored and loved very much. Jack will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister; Helen Tullos of Groveton, Texas, his daughter; Tammy Baird Bowers and husband, Justin of Burton, Texas, his grandchildren; Wesley Creager and wife Taylor of Conroe, Texas, Paxton Creager, Emily and Jace Bowers, all of Burton, Texas and a great- grandchild; Brooks Creager. Also left to cherish Jack’s memory are his niece; Lynn Tullos of AL, great-niece; Ginny Green and husband Robert of Baytown, Texas, great- nephew; Brad Sherman and wife Tiffany and great-great-nephews; Seth Terro, Luke and James Sherman.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Justin Bowers, Wesley Creager, Paxton Creager, Robert Green, Edan Sanchez and Jeff Krolczyk.

A visitation for Jack will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at St. John’s United Church of Christ located at 516 N. Colorado Street, Burton, Texas 77835. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with the interment to follow in the St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery located on Old Mill Road also in Burton, Texas.
